Good morning, friends! I don’t know what’s it like in the part of the world you live in – but I cannot stand all this rain we’re getting in the DC area. Constant thunderstorms and cloudy skies – not my sort of thing. I’m looking forward to the 4th of July day off (although it is supposed to rain – AGAIN) so I might just keep this one indoors and relaxing by the warm glow of the television. 🙂 Speaking of television – anyone catch the premiere of Dexter last night?! I know this much – the final season is going to be pretty awesome, I can sense it.
And with that, let’s get our inspiration on!
The colors for these holiday cards are so AWESOME! You never really think of neon used in this way, especially for the holidays.
The evolution of the LEGO logo.
Awww such cute minimalist illustrations!
You can never have enough animated short films – especially ones as beautifully executed as this one from Olesya Shchukina.

Finally. My love of paper and food combined.
A co-worker shared the work of Lauren Indovina with me and I am blown away! It’s people like Lauren that make me want to do better work [thanks, Stephen!].
Well, hello there. Another Monday morning is upon us, which means, the weekend is officially over. I spent the weekend at my parents’ house, so I basically had a mini-vacation. Their house has this Lost-like magnetic pull that forces me to relax, veg out and sleeeeeep. It was magical. A few highlights: got some sketching done for a couple of invites and my brother got engaged to Priya (the very same from Priya’s Time and Space Museum), which means, we’re going to officially be family. 🙂 Family weddings are ALWAYS fun so I’m super stoked.
The inspiration world has been good to me over the last week because today’s Monday Inspiration is a pretty meaty one. I have seen so many awesome things I’ve been saving to bombard you guys with to help start this week off right. Let’s get to it!

Good morning, friends. I hope everyone had a great weekend! My husband and I went to the first part of the AMC Best Picture Showcase on Saturday where we watched four of the nine best picture nominations for the Oscars. We’re going to see the remaining five this Saturday and I can’t wait! Let’s check out what’s on tap for this edition of Monday Inspiration.

Jon Gray’s book cover designs make me want to judge books solely by their cover. Aren’t they great?
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I was a little under the weather and tried to rest as much as possible. The highlight of my weekend was the early birthday celebration for my mom with a super laid back dinner and cake cutting. She’s a beautiful 57-years-old today. Happy birthday, mom! And with that – inspiration time!
Love these gorgeous illustrations by Claudia Pearson.

Good morning, friends! Are you guys ready for Christmas?! I feel like I still have so much to do! I know I’m a little behind but the Christmas tree was finally put up this past week with accompanying decorations around the house. I bought a few gingerbread houses and trees to coat with candy so stay tuned for those pics later this week on Instagram. Even though I’m behind on the Christmas decorating, I am on my A-game for secret santa. All the goodies for the different secret santa gift exchanges I’m part of this year have been bought. Now it’s time to wrap and make them look pretty. And with that, let’s begin today’s inspiration.
How awesome are these teal-edged wedding invites?

This past weekend felt like the beginning of Christmas for me. I had an early secret santa gift exchange with my girlfriends, got dolled up and attended a holiday party with my husband, and FINALLY dragged out all our Christmas decorations to put up throughout the week (I know, I’m so behind). I also started addressing Peety Christmas cards that I printed at Typecase Industries’ workshop (read about it here). I think it’s official – I’m in a very festive mood. Time to dig into this week’s inspiration.
Seriously, how freakin’ cute are these prints from Mint Parcel? AND affordable? Double win.

Are you guys big on buying from Etsy? There are things I really enjoy about it as a seller – the ease of opening a shop, the built-in support of fellow sellers, and promoting your work. The drawback, personally speaking, is that there are SO many artists on this site, it can be a bit overwhelming, making it difficult to find that hidden gem. That’s why I’m introducing a new Peety Blogs feature: Etsy Highlight, where I share my current favorite artists or artwork on Etsy.
Let me introduce you to Nan Lawson Illustration. She describes her artwork as “cute quirky and nerdy art.” Learn more about her here. I am pretty obsessed with the whimsical quality of her work. Somehow, the softness of the colors and illustration style are a perfect match for each captured image. I am so annoyed with myself for not being an owner of one of her rad prints already!
I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving full of overeating and a lot of napping – because I know I did! On top of that, my hometown football team, the Redskins, won against the Cowboys and I got to work on a lot of Peety goodies! With Christmas creeping around the corner, I’d say I’m feeling pretty good right about now.
Let’s slice into this tryptophan-free helping of Monday Inspiration!
