It’s Monday evening and I’m still looking back on our weekend, misty-eyed, wishing it wasn’t over. Mondays are especially tough after you’ve had the weekend my family and I had. The weekend started with some guilty pleasure watching of Mighty Ducks… all. three. of. them. You read that right. The rest of the weekend followed with Krispy Kreme donuts, burgers, milkshakes, ice cream, leisurely walks in the city’s town center, and lego building. It’s what summers were made for and I still can’t believe we’re already halfway through it! Continue reading

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes (Turn and face the strange)
Turn and face the strain
Don’t have to be a richer man
Ch-ch-Changes (Turn and face the strange)
Don’t want to be a better man
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time

I feel you, Bowie. It’s been almost a month since I’ve been ’round these parts but that’s because a lot has been going on. Our family has visited the beach and consumed our weight in french fries and ice cream. Vee basically woke up one morning and started using the toilet like she’s been doing it forever. She also started pre-school and gave no f*cks about being on her own. That means we’re doing something right, right?! My husband started an amazing new job where they actually value his experience and knowledge – who would’ve thought that still existed in the workplace?! But the ch-ch-ch-ch-changes Bowie talks about are more with myself and my husband. Life turned itself upside down and inside out on us and as we tried to navigate thru the weeds, a new mindset revealed itself to us. There are more changes right around the corner and imma try this thing where I focus on myself and being positive rather than worry about the “whats ifs.” Wish me luck! Continue reading

Hey there. It’s been a while. Quite a bit has happened since I last posted. Jon Stewart aired his last Daily Show episode. I started a new sketch series called #peetysketches. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale broke up. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux got married. Vee started talking to me in almost full sentences. I’ve been eating a boatload of Trader Joe’s Salsa Autentica. I’m sort of, kind of, maybe coming out of the overwhelming haze of life. The dog days of summer are most definitely here and I’m ready for them to be gone. Why is everyone on Snapchat?! So much has happened and I’ve only been gone for a short three weeks! Don’t be mad. I’ll try not to let it happen again. I come bearing gifts. Forgiven?

Inspiration time:

Can watermelon get any better? Because I think it just did.

Loved reading this article about explaining graphic design to 4-year-olds. I always wondered how I’d explain what I do to Vee when she gets older and I got a lot of ideas.

Project Runway started its next season last Thursday. It’s still sitting in my DVR but I am so excited to watch it.

What a great responsive logo design.

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. ❤

What! And I was just going to get Vee some pink donuts, a Minnie dress and call it a day for her birthday.

I love looking at The Face Reader.

The creative department has been putting together puzzles for the last few months and I have to say, it’s one of the best things. We just finished working on this gradient CMYK puzzle.

Speaking of gradient, get ’em randomized using this generator.

Hex invadors!

I haven’t read thru all of this but The History of Icons looks pretty cool.

Whoa, these thin sheet metal invites are pretty cool.
